Smakolyk is Lviv’s only cafe that specializes in serving healthy organic food at very reasonable prices.
Where?
Smakolyk can be found on a quiet corner Mykhalchuka and Nalyvaika Streets. To find it from Prospect Svobody, look for the Opera Passage shopping center then turn onto Tyktora Street. Walk along this narrow street until you reach Nalyvaika Street and turn right.
Atmosphere
Smakolyk is a quiet smoke-free and alcohol-free venue in soft red and white palette that’s great for reading, writing and conversation. There are two dining areas with free Wifi. The high-ceiled upper level has lots of natural light and comfy seats. Both levels are family friendly with high chairs for infants and toddlers and the downstairs bathroom features a changing table.
Menu
Smakolyk’s vegetarian-friendly menu varies with the season. All dishes are made from fresh organic ingredients from Carpathian villages, and the calories of each dish are marked on the menu. Winter dishes include a variety of salads, soups, along with fish, veal and rabbit dishes. Try the braised veal with porcino mushrooms, trout stuffed with broccoli and almonds or stewed rabbit in cream. There’s a ton of healthy breakfast options including, fresh-baked breads, porridge, omelets and crepes. Finish your breakfast with “Latin American” coffee spiced with cinnamon and topped with whipped cream. Sweets lovers can’t go wrong at Smakolyk- try one of their many cookies or cakes (the Polish makivnyk with poppy seeds, figs, apricots, nuts and chocolate is an excellent choice). For a simple healthy dessert, go for the baked apple, a great way to warm up in the winter. Natural honey, delicious sweets, and homemade jams are available for takeout.

Smakolyk opens early and serves breakfast all day – a great brunch stop if you’ve done some late-night partying.
