Pan Tao is an upscale Chinese restaurant and great for large groups and if you don’t mind a short trip outside Lviv’s center.
Where?
Pan Tao is located a bit outside Lviv’s center, about a 15-minute taxi ride. Pan Tao’s sign is well visible to the right from the road.
Atmosphere
Pan Tao is ornately decorated and gives diners lots of options. You can choose the light and airy downstairs loggia and relax on wicker chairs, go upstairs to the elegant main hall, chill on comfy sofas at the sushi bar, or experience a traditional Chinese tea ceremony in a specially designed room. If you’re seeking privacy, a VIP room is available. Live music can often be heard on Friday or Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Menu
At Pan Tao diners can choose from both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. There’s Peking-style baked duck, original Red or Golden Dragon rolls or fried Chinese dumplings. Start with some Chinese wood mushrooms with bamboo or the Emperor’s salad with smoked eel. “Drunken” pork ribs or duck baked in beer are good choices for a main course. If you’re with a group, try the Kotenteki sushi set. For dessert, go with pumpkin balls or fried bananas in rice dough. Wine lovers will appreciate Pan Tao’s selection of over 100 vintage wines.

- A traditional tea ceremony can be ordered in advance.
- Free delivery and take out orders are possible.
- You can stay later than Pan Tao’s official closing time, but it will cost you 200 UAH (about 20 EURO) per hour. (Note: this rule may be relaxed during the EURO2012 championship in June, but you should check beforehand.)
