Golden Treasures of Lost Civilizations

Golden Treasures of Lost Civilizations is a year-long exhibit at Potocki Palace. The exhibit, which runs until December 30, 2012, features relics from the Bronze Age to the Kievan Rus' period. The collection includes everyday household items, jewelry, tools and weapons of gold, silver, nonferrous metals, bone and glass from the Northern Black Sea and Mediterranean regions.

"The Trypillian Code" at Potocki Palace

Location: Potocki Palace
"The Trypillian Code" will have a long run at the Potocki Palace from June 2nd till December 31st 2012. The exhibit includes over 400 artifacts that date from from 4500-3000 B.C. from the Trypillian culture, one of the largest Neolithic settlements, which stretched from the Carpathians to the Dnieper and Dnister River regions and encompassed parts of modern-day Romania, Moldova and Ukraine.

"Sport and the City: People. Society. Ideology."

From June 8th, 2012 till February 11th, 2013, the Center of Urban History of East Central Europe will host "Sport and the City: People. Society. Ideology." The exhibit traces the history of sports in Lviv over the past 150 years, from the beginnings of sports in Europe and particularly in Lviv, including the relationship between sports and nationalism, sports and government, sports and commerce, and sports on a global level. Admission is free.

"Let's Paint Our Land" at Lemish Gallery

From Thursday, August 23rd to Tuesday, September 11th, the Lemish Gallery will host an inter-regional exhibit "Let's Paint Our Land" by popular Ukrainian artists Oleksandr Yurchenko and Volodymyr Sandyuk. The exhibit features nearly 60 works depicting the picturesque Ukrainian countryside. Admission is free.

Bohdan Vil'chyk Project at Dzyga

On Tuesday, August 28, at 8 p.m. head upstairs to Kvartyra 35 (Dzyga) to catch the Bohdan Vil'chyk Project. Entrance is free. Call ahead to reserve a table. Kvartyra 35 sits directly above Pid Klepsydroju in the Dzyga café-art gallery complex on Lviv’s Virmens'ka Street.
